The Greenwood Avenue Senior Apartment Complex is a $1 million Senior Housing Project located in Madison, Illinois. This multi-funded project opened in September of 2001, and consists of six duplexes, or 12 two bedroom units.
The project is constructed on a 1.2 acre site formally housing the 40,000 sq.ft. Tarlas Meat Packing Company.
The design of the new duplexes is consistent in scale with the surrounding neighborhood. The bungalow details are borrowed elements found in the neighborhood.
All of the 830 sq.ft. two bedroom units are fully handicapped adaptable with one of the units fully accessible. Each of the units has two entries, front and rear, washer/dryer hook ups, full kitchen and off street parking.
This project is intended to serve as a catalyst to both stabilize the neighborhood as well as to encourage additional redevelopment. |
